Ways To Install Rubber Speed Hump Using The Right Tools

Whenever you are driving on the road, have you seen those rubber humps in yellow and black coloured stripes? These bumps are mostly placed in some of the high speed areas and with only purpose and that is to slow down the car. In the speeding zones, you can see the cars just flying off and causing some tremendous accidents. 1) How to install the same with steel spikes:

Based on the area where you are planning to install these rubber humps, the installation procedure along with the materials will change. To install bumps on the asphalt or gravel platform, you need steep spikes to help you out with the procedure.

  • Here, you will need the high speeding hammer drill with around 7/16 inches masonry bit. 
  • Then you have the smaller sledge hammer to go with the tools along with steel spikes.
  • For the gravel and older asphalt, you will need 18 inches steel spikes.
  • Then you have the activated epoxy resin as another recommended option in here to consider.

Here, you have to position the given speed bump in the location and mark the areas where the pre-sunk bolt holes will rest. Then remove the bump. Next, drill every marking through pavement for creating a space to put in the steel spikes. Now, clean and dry up the area and reposition bumps so that the pre-sunk bolt holes can align well with drilled pavement holes. 

For the next steps, you have to hammer the spike through the centre bolt hole and right into the drilled one until snug against the given counterbore hole. Make sure to repeat this same procedure for all the bolt holes available with rubber speed hump. For the last step, make sure to butter up the spikes with epoxy. It will help protect the older asphalts from cracking.
